Why am I obsessing over food?

I don’t know why, but my Internet wanderings keep leading me to food. I don’t mean to end up there, but that’s what keeps happening.

Here are two foodsites that I find particularly yummy. http://www.amateurgourmet.com/
and http://jewfood.blogspot.com/

As I mentioned before, I love food. I love to eat, I’ve lately come to discover that I love to cook and bake. I am conscious of my caloric intake, so I’ve made the decision that if I’m going to eat something it’s going to be of the best quality I can manage.

Which bring me back to my usual rant. I think my foodie tendencies are evidence of my movement into the middle to upper middle class. I can afford small quantities of expensive ingredients. Lower income people can’t. Have I moved into the brie and chardonnay crowd leaving the beer and chips crowd behind. But it’s what I’ve come to enjoy. Does that make me a class traitor?

I may be guilty of overthinking this, but nonetheless, our food preferences are indicative of our class and cultural status.
