Love letter to Oregon

Everyday life

I’m going to be a little self indulgent and post a few of my vacation pix.
Oregon fits me. It has everything I love – and yes, I know it rains a lot. I happen to like rain.
* The Cascades to the east of Portland. Mt. Hood and it’s sister volcanic peaks have a presence that the mountains of the Rockies don’t because they are so easily individually identifiable.
* The coastal mountains covered with forests (even though they bear the scars of clearcutting.
*The coast alternating between wide sandy beaches and rocky promontories.
*Verdant agricultural valleys. Dairy farms, fruit farms, vegetables (even though they must be irrigated).
*The mild, rainy weather along the coast and mountains supports lush gardens and breathtaking wild flowers.

I know life isn’t perfect anywhere, and vacation isn’t reality, but the Pacific Northwest has a quality that is found no where else in the U.S.
