I’ve migrated my blog to edublog for several reasons. I had no problems with blogger. In fact I had become rather attached to it. But a while ago I discovered edublogs and set up a blog for my class within it. As I’ve poked around, I’ve discovered it has some functionalities that I believe will be quite useful. The most prominant of these is “pages.” These allow the user to set up static pages much like a website. So, I’m doing so. I have one for my CV and one for my research interests thus far. I’m not sure what else I’ll do with it yet, but I see lots of possibilities.
There are things that blogger.com does better than edublogs. The text editor interface seems to be more complex on edublogs, but that could be because I haven’t figured it all out yet. I do miss having my tag cloud, but I suspect that’s just a matter of figuring out out to do it. So, in the meantime, I’m keeping my blogger site, but won’t be adding anything to it. If I decide I don’t like edublogs, I’ll skip town and head back to blogger. Or I might stay here.
Oh life in the blogosphere is so much fun.
